SANTO DOMINGO – The podcast “Investments, in Brief,” promoted by Grupo Popular and its stock market subsidiaries, has been recognized with the silver medal at the Stevie® Awards, in the category of Best Business Podcast, standing out as an effective financial education tool about the Dominican stock market to reach a young audience, thanks to its short format and the insertion of sound effects with a humorous tone.
Presented by the International Business Awards® (IBA) of the United States, the Stevie® Awards are a prestigious competition, considered one of the most important business award programs in the world. This is the first time a Dominican podcast has received this important distinction.
“Investments, in Brief” stood out from over 3,600 submissions from organizations in 62 countries. In its three seasons, this corporate podcast has garnered over 41,000 listens to date, establishing itself among the top 100 most-listened-to podcasts in the country across major podcast platforms.
Regarding its audience, 88% of its streams came from the Dominican Republic, primarily from a young demographic, with significant listenership in the cities of Santo Domingo and Santiago. Its international reach is also notable, especially in Spanish-speaking countries and the United States.

It is noteworthy how this communication format has encouraged the opening of brokerage accounts at Inversiones Popular, the brokerage firm of Grupo Popular, with a tangible effect. Between April 2023 and April 2024, the total number of brokerage account openings grew by 11%, while among the 18-25 and 26-35 age groups—the podcast's target audience—growth was significant, with increases of 80% and 152%, respectively.
In addition, each episode featured guests from the world of media and entertainment, whose stories exemplified the appeal and ease of stock market investing. The jury that awarded the Silver Stevie® to “Investments, in Brief” praised its impact on the audience, highlighting that it is an “interesting and well-designed idea” and emphasizing the podcast's professional nature, which offers valuable information without oversimplifying concepts. “It is an engaging and necessary resource for the financial education of its target audience. The metrics included, especially the opening of new accounts, are impressive,” the judges added.
Another relevant observation from the jury was the podcast's ability to connect with its audience through a unique format that incorporates audio memes, adapting to the communication tone and interests of young people.
